BTS makes an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ and on ‘Good Morning America’. Follow the links below to watch.

That moment when Jimin introduces himself with “Hey, Jimmy, I’m Jimin!” is everything. Chimmy Fallon has arrived.

Jungkook’s ‘worm’ and Suga’s swag during the Fortnite Dance Challenge is enough reason to watch this alone. Throw in the boys flossing over Jimmy Fallon, and you’ve got perfection.

BTS goes super hard in Idol, leaving me–and a legion of screaming fans–constantly impressed by how well these men still manage to sing while dancing.

“I’m Fine” is my favorite song on BTS’s ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ album. Throw in emotionally charged choreography, and the song is as much a winner on stage as it is an album track.

BTS wows in their ‘Good Morning America’ interview with their positive message and incredible fashion.

BTS does it again, bringing an energetic, powerful performance to New York’s Time Square.

GOT7 Album Review

Regina’s thoughts (based off of first listen):

GOT7 is one of my favorite idol groups, and I always enjoy their album releases. ‘Present; You’ is no different. While I found the entire album pleasing, I have to admit that I wouldn’t play all of the tracks on repeat. Based on personal preference, the three tracks that made it onto my repeat playlist are ‘Enough’, ‘Made it’, and ‘Nobody Knows’. This may change when I get a good look at translated lyrics, but based off of sound and feel, these are the songs that drew me in the most.

As a writer (author is my day job), I often write while listening to music. Music inspires me. So, I choose my favorite tracks off of new albums based on how they make me feel, whether I understand the lyrics or not. Then, once I get a good look at the English translations, I often re-evaluate which songs touch me the most.

Conclusion: GOT7 always delivers. Three songs have made it onto my repeat playlist, and the music video for Lullaby has been replayed countless times. Fighting, GOT7!

Sabrina’s thoughts (based off of first listen):

Unlike my sister, I have a tendency to listen to music according to the melody and the way the song is harmonized. This is due to my innate love for dance, something that has stayed with me for years. I have a habit of hearing music through my feet. That may not make a lot of sense, but it’s the way that I feel the music when I hear a song. If my feet can move to it, I’m in love. With that being said, the tracks that made it onto my repeat playlist are ‘OMV’, ‘Lullaby’, ‘I am Me’, and ‘Made it’.

Although one of my day jobs also involves being an author, I listen to music less from a lyrical viewpoint and more from the way my body responds to the track.

Conclusion: First, isn’t Jackson Wang perfect husband material?? If you can’t tell, he’s my total bias. All in all, I agree with the sis. GOT7 delivers! I wish these guys the best of success in all their future endeavors, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Go Jackson…ahem…I mean boys. Fighting!

GOT7’s new album and Lullaby music video is here!

GOT7 dropped their new music video for Lullaby on the morning of our birthday, and I’ve got to say it’s one awesome birthday present! The dancing, the visuals, the music, and the hair! Can BamBam just stay blond please?

Today is going to be spent acquainting myself with the new album, so be on the lookout for an album review soon.

And while you’re at it, check out the new MV on YouTube!

New music, music videos, album reviews, and more …

Update by Regina:

My two newest K-Pop purchases were by BTS and SHINee; Bangtan Sonyeondan’s Love Yourself: Answer and SHINee’s ‘The Story of Light’ Epilogue -The 6th Album. While these were new purchases, they weren’t necessarily a new listen for me. With the exception of a few new songs on each album, I’d already heard a good deal of the tracks as they were on previous album buys.

I have a deep love for both of these idol groups–my BTS bias is Jimin, and my SHINee bias is Onew–and I always get excited when I see they have new releases. I could break down every song on each, how they made me feel and what I got from them personally– including theories about the BTS album–but I’m going to keep it simple for this post.

Favorite ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ tracks: These song choices are based off lyrics and my personal taste in music.

  • I’m Fine
  • Answer: Love Myself

Although these are my two favorite songs off of the current album, the entire ‘Love Yourself’ series has touched me in a deeply real way. As a child who grew up with an alcoholic father, I not only suffered at home but was bullied incessantly in school. Due to this, I developed social anxiety and an eating disorder. The journey to loving myself was a long one, a deeply personal journey that I overcame through writing, volunteer work, and time. Lots and lots of time. The ‘Love Yourself’ series is more than just a good listen, it’s empowering, and I hope listeners get as much from it as I did. Hats off to this group and the people behind this album. Hats off to the BTS Army as well. They’re not only amazing fans, they are a support group. I’ve made amazing friendships through this fan base.

Favorite ‘The Story of Light’ Epilogue’ tracks:

  • Countless
  • You and I

I have seriously enjoyed the entire Story of Light series by SHINee. Not only is the series a mix of songs that are fun, touching, and heartbreaking, but I connected to this group on a much deeper level through these albums. I don’t know if that was their intention, or if my connection to it and them was because this album felt like a healing journey for them after the loss of Jonghyun. I’ve lost both of my parents and all but one of my grandparents, and even though I think I’ve moved past the pain–it’s been over ten years now since my mother passed and five years since my father–I find myself hurting when I least expect it. Even though “You and I” seemed like a love song (English translation available online), it is still a song about saying goodbye. And I felt that. Also, Onew’s voice, y’all! Lord, I love him. He’s my ultimate bias.

All in all, these are both albums you don’t want to miss out on. I’ve been playing them on repeat.

If you haven’t checked out their newest music videos, check them out below:

And if you missed out on BTS’s  recent Idol performance on America’s Got Talent, check it out below!

Add in by Sabrina:

Since Regina pretty much said it all, I’ll add in my favorites on both Albums:

Favorite ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ tracks:

Epiphany – Jin is one of my all time favorites of BTS and the lyrics for this song spoke to me on so many levels.

Favorite ‘The Story of Light’ Epilogue’ tracks:

Countless – The way they harmonize on this song together as a group gives me goosebumps! My all time favorite song right now. I listen to it at least once a day.
